Dudpukuria CMC is trying to make a conservation wall around the Dudpukuria-Dhopachari wildlife sanctuary through meeting and awareness campaign. It also made some initiative on creation of AIG activities to reduce dependency on forest. Now VCF members are collected fuel food in their surrounding homestead instead from forest. Dudpukuria CMC planted 10950 saplings, distributed 19537 sapling and established nursery in the landscape area which help the environmental conservation. Local village caught 5 deer, from the local area which come out from the forest, it released those deer into the forest with the help of forest department and in presence of Mr. Hasan Mahmud, Member of Parliament. 30 VCF members are produced vermi compost which used by more 100 VCF members in their agriculture land instead of inorganic fertilizer which will help the biodiversity conservation as well as migratory and indigenous bird species. Local villagers are diverting vegetables cultivation from tobacco.

Sustainable Development Impacts

During winter, Dudpukuria CMC aware the community through miking and awareness meeting on forest fire. Now the intension on giving fire in the forest is reducing day by day. The organization also trained the VCF members on bamboo pruning artificially, planted bamboo prune in the homestead area which reduced the forest dependency for bamboo. Fish culture is also going to sustainable and cultivate 490 decimal water bodies to established fish culture with engaged 51 CPG and 68 VCF members. They have done some activities, by their own cost which amount is 82 thousand, to prepare a pond like earth work, embankment around the pond. They had released 160000 fingerling of mono sex talafia and 250 kg cup fish fingerling and maintain their regular activities. In the beginning, they earned BDT 158549 from their fish project. Dudpukuria CMC has prepared annual development plan in every year and also prepared long term plan to make it sustainable organization.

Scalability

Dudpukuria CMC thinks, their activities should be expanded to other part of the country because every activity is directly related with mass people’s livelihoods and forest conservation. It works with forest department through co-management system. But day by day pressure on forest is increasing due to increasing population, human settlement, increasing urban area etc. If mass aware about the importance of forest and biodiversity and these will necessary for human existence, the organization hope will conserve the natural forest area. In this regards, organization is trying disseminate all conservation & forest protection activities through print media coverage. Every mass gathering or any VIP visit, Dudpukuria CMC has invited the national or local journalist to disseminate the news in the whole country and it will continue in future.

Replicability

Dudpukuria CMC think, taken action or activities such as anti-forest fire, anti-tobacco awareness steps, fish culture using fallow land, vermi compost production etc. will replicate to other part of the country. Its take minimum investment cost and essay to going to production within a short period of time. To keep the aim in mind, CMC always facilitated in cross visit which organized by different national level NGOs. Member of Parliament (MP), Divisional forest officer (DFO), Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Local UP Members, local journalist frequently visit CMC activities whose are act as a disseminating agent. And people always follow their speech, activities and lesson which is given by them. Dudpukuria CMC hopes these will help them to replicate activities in the other part of the country.
