Description

WE need to design and develop a community- based eco tourism pattern suitable for nomad community conditions in Iran by searching and analyzing the old and new international patterns ,local traditional participation patterns, activates and knowledge. its the best way to control unsustainable tourism development that we have in our region in the name of eco tourism. The cooperation between academic part, facilitators, governmental organizations and other tourism suppliers (as their approach mostly is top-down) learn to community how they could work and survive on bigger circumstances with their own approach (bottom- up) to achieve to an integrated approach. It was hard as the main stream of tourism in Iran (mass tourism – don’t believe marketing names) is in apposite trend of the community interest (alternative tourism). These give them a chance to have control on negative impact of tourism development.WE need to design and develop a community- based eco tourism pattern suitable for nomad community conditions in Iran by searching and analyzing the old and new international patterns ,local traditional participation patterns, activates and knowledge. its the best way to control unsustainable tourism development that we have in our region in the name of eco tourism. Environmental Impacts

As nomads move twice a year, it will not be possible that they take care of there grazed area when they are far from that region. as a result many times as they back to their lands they coped with a lot of damage and pollution there . By running this project we created a new job (traditionally was duty without income) named Qoroqban( ICCA guards). a person that protect and take care of nomad lands as they are far. To cover the expenses of these jobs we used the revenue of eco tourism activities to motivate community member to took these jobs. This idea leads community to start some planning to protect special fauna and flora at their lands.then we rise the salary as the Qoroqbans except to expand their duties as monitoring the illegal hunting in ICCA and inform governmental responsible organization about it.

Sustainable Development Impacts

As a esult of the project, the level of knowledge among community members about development concepts for all fields rise up . Community used a managed intensive rotational grazing to restore their grazed area. Its run and managed by community members. Also protecting their ICCA as a main goal covered other protection efforts on local fauna and flora at that region. One of the most important activities in this field is that community design and adapt his own environmental indicators for environmental assessment based on traditional recourse management that are more easy and cheap to work with.

Scalability

As a result of successful eco tourism development by the project, the governmental organization on local, regional and national level show positive reaction about the project and participate with community by gave them a chance to introduce their knowledge and share it with professionals in these field. Now our community shared its knowledge with other local communities in different meeting on development, tourism and conservation of environment. Also the community representative participates on publishing a guide book to transfer the knowledge of community based tourism with academic professional in a national level.

Replicability

The pattern that used as community -based eco - tourism in our community could work easily on other functional communities with a little bit modification because its adapted with our community but the head lines and principles could be used everywhere in all kind of communities . for geographic communities like rural communities as stockholder and discovery stage and interests are different modifications will be more. for example the questionnaire for expected nature of participation in nomads and rural communities has a different design.pressure groups also different from one country to another than the preparing stage also must change. its emphasis the need to train local facilitators.
