Synopsis: The saturated market situation in developed countries and enormous potential market size and new business opportunities in developing countries has captured the attention of investors to new emerging market. Especially, Small and Medium-size Enterprises (SMEs) have been considered as major drivers of sustainable growth. Despite some risks, such as lack of financial management and business strategy, and limited market information, the New Venture program of World Resource Institute has now supported 150 innovative SMEs in countries such as Mexico, China and Brazil.
