The initiative focused on supporting households and the women group members to rethink how they grew and managed their farm lands so as to address food security and this was the introduction of agro-forestry practices using fruit trees. The action resulted in the adequate supply of nutritious food for households and surplus to sell which gave them decent incomes. Through the practice, they also were able to protect the soil from being washed away easily hence environmental conservation. The group also undertook training for its members on rainwater harvesting to enable them to have access to water for farming and promote sustainable use of water resources.
